Big Updates from the Studio: MegaCon, New Art, Whatnot and Monthly Subscriptions
This blog shares an update on the growth and restructuring of Ariel Diaz Art, including upcoming convention appearances like MegaCon, the launch of a monthly art subscription and downloadable coloring pages, and improvements to business...
The past year has been full of change, challenges, and lessons learned, but through it all one thing has remained constant: my love for creating art and sharing it with all of you. I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on what has been happening behind the scenes, what’s coming next, and some exciting new things that have been added to the shop.
Back to Conventions, Starting with MegaCon
One of the things I am most excited about this year is returning to conventions and reconnecting with fans, collectors, and fellow artists in person again.
MegaCon is coming up soon, and I am incredibly excited to be back on the convention floor. Conventions have always been one of my favorite parts of being an artist. The energy, the conversations, the live sketching, and seeing people discover my work in person is something truly special.
I will be bringing a variety of new pieces, prints, and collectibles to the show, along with opportunities for sketches and commissions throughout the weekend. If you are attending MegaCon, please stop by the table and say hello. Meeting supporters face-to-face and sharing artwork directly with you is something I truly value.
Something many people may not realize is that conventions can be both exciting and challenging for me personally. As a neurodivergent individual who experiences social anxiety, being in large, crowded environments can sometimes feel overwhelming. Conventions are full of constant noise, movement, and social interaction, and while that energy can be inspiring, it can also be mentally exhausting.
For a long time I struggled with balancing that reality while still wanting to be present and engaged with the amazing community that supports my work. Meeting collectors, talking with fans, and sharing art in person means a lot to me, but it can take extra effort and preparation to navigate those spaces comfortably.
Over time I have learned more about my limits and how to work within them. I may need moments to step away and recharge during busy convention days, but that does not change how much I value the people who stop by the table. Every conversation, every kind word, and every person who connects with my artwork reminds me why I continue to do this.
Even with the challenges, I still want to engage with my audience as much as possible. Conventions allow me to meet the people who support my work, hear what inspires them, and share the creative process behind what I do. Those interactions are meaningful to me, and they are part of what keeps me motivated to continue creating.
As I return to conventions this year, including MegaCon, my goal is to create a balance where I can still connect with everyone while also taking care of myself so I can continue doing what I love for the long run.
This year I am planning to attend more conventions and events, and it feels amazing to step back into that space again.
Introducing the Monthly Art Subscription
One of the newest things I have been developing is a Monthly Art Subscription, designed as a fun and affordable way for collectors and supporters to receive brand new artwork throughout the year while also getting a closer look into my creative process.
Each month, subscribers will receive a small curated package that includes:
• One 5x7 Art Print of the Month
• One collectible sticker or an additional 4x6 mini art print
• A thank you card along with a short letter about the artwork, sharing a little insight into the concept, inspiration, or story behind the piece
The goal of this subscription is to create something that feels more personal, almost like receiving a small piece of the studio in your mailbox each month. It gives me the opportunity to explore new ideas, experiment with different themes and characters, and share artwork that may not always appear in my larger releases.
As I begin transitioning back into traditional painting, this subscription also gives me a way to share that journey with you in a more direct and personal way. Many of these pieces will be inspired by the work I am creating in the studio, making each monthly release feel like a snapshot of what I am currently exploring as an artist.
Subscriptions are also one of the most meaningful ways to support independent artists. They allow me to continue creating new work consistently while building a closer connection with the people who enjoy and collect my art.
If you have been looking for a simple way to support the artwork while receiving something special each month, I would truly love for you to check it out and be part of the experience.

Updates on Previous Orders
I also want to take a moment to address something important. Over the past year, some customers experienced delays or issues with previous orders, and I want to openly acknowledge that. Running an independent studio comes with many moving parts, and during a particularly difficult period, several logistical issues occurred that affected order fulfillment.
Because of a combination of shipping complications, operational changes, and the loss of assistance that had previously helped manage orders, some packages were delayed or did not move through the system the way they should have. I understand how frustrating that can be for customers who trusted me with their orders, and I take that responsibility very seriously.
Right now I am actively working through those situations and making sure every customer is taken care of properly. Orders are coming back on track, and I have been reaching out to customers individually to confirm shipments, provide replacements when necessary, and ensure that everyone ultimately receives the items they supported.
Your patience and understanding during this time has meant a great deal to me. It has also pushed me to restructure how I manage fulfillment moving forward so that stronger systems are in place to prevent these kinds of disruptions in the future.
I truly appreciate the support, encouragement, and trust from this community, and I remain committed to making things right and continuing to grow Ariel Diaz Art in a better and more reliable direction.
What Happened with Whatnot
Many people have asked about the situation with my previous Whatnot streams, so I want to take a moment to explain a little more about what happened behind the scenes.
During that period there were serious shipping issues involving the local post office i was using, where many packages were not properly scanned into the system when they were dropped off. Because those scans never occurred, tracking updates often showed no movement even though the packages had already been shipped. This created a chain reaction of problems, since platforms like Whatnot rely heavily on tracking scans to confirm that orders have been sent out. Without those scans registering, it appeared as if orders had not been shipped even when they had been handed off to the post office.
As a result, orders began getting flagged within the system, which created additional complications with order verification, shipping confirmations, and fulfillment records. Unfortunately, this situation escalated quickly and made it extremely difficult to track exactly where certain packages were within the shipping process.
At the same time, I unexpectedly lost the help that had been assisting with managing some of the operational workload. With that support suddenly gone, I found myself trying to handle fulfillment, customer communication, inventory management, and daily business operations all at once. It became very difficult to keep everything moving smoothly while also trying to investigate and resolve the shipping issues that were occurring.
There were also complications involving the warehouse space I had been using for storage and fulfillment. The building experienced leaks that caused damage to some of my stored products, and when those issues were not resolved I made the decision to dispute the situation and refused to continue paying rent under those conditions. During that dispute the warehouse owner locked access to the unit, which prevented me from retrieving inventory and materials that were needed to fulfill certain orders. This created additional delays and added another layer of difficulty during an already stressful time.
All of these issues happened within a short period and created a perfect storm of logistical problems that were extremely challenging to manage as a small independent operation. It was an incredibly frustrating situation on multiple levels, both professionally and personally.
Ultimately, the experience forced me to step back and reassess how certain parts of the business were being handled so that stronger systems and safeguards could be put in place moving forward. While it was a difficult chapter, it also helped me identify the changes that needed to happen to build a more stable and reliable foundation for the future of Ariel Diaz Art.
What’s Next for Whatnot
The good news is that Whatnot will be returning, but with a much more structured and carefully managed approach moving forward.
After MegaCon, I plan to restart my Whatnot streams while personally overseeing and managing the entire process myself. This means maintaining full control over everything from the artwork being created and sold, to inventory management, packaging, and shipping fulfillment. By handling these steps directly, I can ensure that each order is tracked properly and that the workflow remains organized from start to finish.
Moving forward, I will also be much more present and directly involved during the Whatnot streams themselves. This will allow me to communicate more clearly with viewers, answer questions in real time, and make sure that everything happening during the stream is properly documented and organized. Being more hands-on will help create a smoother experience for both collectors and myself.
Returning to Whatnot also gives me the opportunity to bring back the parts of the platform that I genuinely enjoyed and that many collectors enjoyed as well. Live streams allow for a much more interactive and spontaneous experience where I can share artwork in real time, talk with the community, and offer unique pieces that may not always appear in the shop.
I’m especially looking forward to bringing back live art sessions, auctions, sketch opportunities, and interactive moments with viewers, which are some of the most fun and engaging aspects of streaming. It creates a space where collectors can watch artwork come to life while also participating in the process.
I’m excited to reconnect with the community there and create a better experience moving forward.
Looking Ahead
Like many creative businesses, the past year has involved a great deal of trial and error, and at times those trials came with setbacks that were difficult to navigate. Running an independent art studio means constantly balancing creativity with logistics, production, and fulfillment, and along the way there were moments where things did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. However, every challenge has also provided valuable lessons that have helped me grow, adapt, and rethink how I approach both the creative and operational sides of my work.
Right now, I feel like things are finally moving forward in a much stronger direction. With new ideas taking shape, improved systems being put in place, and a renewed focus on organization and stability, I am entering this next chapter with a clearer vision for the future of Ariel Diaz Art. My goal is to continue creating meaningful artwork while building a foundation that allows the business to run more smoothly and sustainably.
There is still so much that I want to explore and bring to life. New prints, new projects, new materials, new convention appearances, and new ways to connect with the community that has supported my work for so many years. Creating art has always been at the center of everything I do, and sharing that work with all of you is what keeps me motivated every day.
No matter what challenges arise along the way, one thing is certain. I am not giving up on what I love to do. I remain deeply grateful for everyone who has continued to believe in my work, support my art, and stand by me throughout this journey.
Thank you for being part of this community and for continuing to support Ariel Diaz Art.
